Making Seattle Trails

We describe the pages here as we make them. When we find a better way we will revise these steps as if we'd done it the better way all along.

We choose a public entry point that is easy to say and hints clearly where it fits in with other things I do. I create the pages that show my stuff. See Seattle Trails

We want a place where I can mark a variety of places to visit so that I have some good choices that fit my time and inclinations when on vacation. See Interesting Places

We setup a page to make mobile tour maps for turn by turn directions when out on my bike. This page has a Frame html script to config the map and Assets to hold this and the tour map. See Mobile Map

We will scale and color balance cell phone images then upload them in daily bundles. We choose one year as a convenient size for assembling bundles and make a long term home for these pages. See Photos by Year

We create our first upload management page borrowing from the seasonal pages we have used before. This will have an Asset folder customized for for each period and the place page composition tools we will use after uploading. See Uploads for 2021

We upload our first batch of photos and go to work on the first park visited. We read the proper location name from the map, create a page titled accordingly, and then tag the synopsis with â–·Central indicating the neighborhood it occupies. See Judkins Park and Playfield

We intend to make this site self-sufficient by hosting its own scripts even when we adapt them from other sites. We offer these as a resource for others. See Scripts

We factor out the place page creation from the upload pages by linking to one page. See Make New Places
